Training & Development

We offer a range of comprehensive training courses to satisfy both Food & Drink legislation (compliance training) and NPD related topics. We are always happy to discuss tailoring any NPD course to our client´s specific needs.

1. Compliance Training - preparation for Foundation (level 2) and Intermediate Certificates (level 3) in Food Safety & Food Hygiene, Nutrition and Health, HACCP, COSHH, and Manual Handling. RSPH/CIEH accreditation upon request.

2. NPD Training - 6 hour courses on food new product development:

  • From Plot to Plate - an introduction to New Product Development for Start-ups; including idea generation, consumer acceptance, commercial viability, packaging, project management, standardisation, shelf-life determination, food labelling implications
  • Eureka! - profitable creative thinking in the workplace; including idea generation, barriers to creativity, creative tools and lateral thinking approaches
  • Trial by Jury - consumer focused development, getting it right first time; including market research, consumer insight, quantitative and qualitative research methods, product benchmarking, sensory evaluation, and test marketing
  • The Golden Goose - new product development with insight and innovation for established food businesses; including identifying new opportunities, concept writing, building concept designs, consumer insight, project development, financial considerations

3. Interactive Development Workshops - short 3 hour workshops on a variety of topics for example:

  • Product quality assurance and standardisation
  • Commercial viability in product design
  • Food trends in Health and Well Being food categories
  • Regional ethnic foods (Indian, S.E. Asian, S. American)
  • Perfect Pastry and Dough - a masterclass
  • Chocolate and Sugarwork - a masterclass
  • UK food labelling and nutritional claims
